What message do you want to deliver through the brand?
We would like people to know that beauty exists in everything and everyone. Our line of cosmetics doesn't intimidate; in fact, it includes and embraces everyone's individuality. We incorporated the ‘feel-good factor’ through positive affirmations and quotations on the products, so users are constantly reminded of the simple things that make them glow from within. It’s all about positive beauty: we pride ourselves in being chic, luxe and straight-forward simultaneously!

First things first: we don't believe in rules, because beauty is universal. All our colours are swatched on our team of various ethnicities and skin tones to ensure that our products are fun, functional and foolproof.
What’s interesting about the production process?
At UB Cosmetics, we take inspiration from all walks of life and incorporate them in our creations. We believe that through beauty, we can make the world a smaller and warmer place. And thanks to e-commerce, our products are made accessible for anyone, anytime, anywhere!
Are the products safe to use for sensitive and acne-prone skin?
Our philosophy is to exclude controversial chemicals in our products and we always aim to incorporate natural ingredients to boost the benefits of the products. All our products are made without cruelty and we ensure that they’re vegetarian-friendly, too. Our base formulations have been tried, tested and used in Europe, US and Asia for many decades, and we have tweaked our formulations to ensure that they’re safe for the skin.
What made UB Cosmetics jump on the ‘fuss-free and fool-proof’ bandwagon?
While we admire the beautiful pictures of cover models and celebrities, we wanted to make the colours easier for day-to-day individuals to use. The pigments are adjusted to be soft and buildable, so you can slowly layer on as you learn how to use the products. Colour swatches are carefully selected that it's universal enough to be used on all skin tones. Our ethos: embracing diversity means we want to include everyone from beginners to experts so they will enjoy the beauty process. That joy is ultimately what adds to the glow.
Which is your star product that any beauty junkie must have?
That would have to be our Lip Tints a.k.a Tint Stick. Girls will not have to worry about leaving stains on their cup or having to reapply the lipstick every few hours. The sticks are high in pigment, made for ultra-long wear and soothing for the lips, too. (Psst... trust us, they won't rub off on anyone's collar!) ;)
Will you be expanding your range of products anytime soon?
We have created a full range of products. However, we want to focus on organic growth, therefore we’ll be launching one product at a time so we can focus on reaching a wider audience without overspending on our marketing budget. This way, the savings can be passed on to our fans as we gear all our promotional efforts through collaborations and "e-efforts".
What can we expect from UB Cosmetics in the future?
We’d love to kickstart our first social enterprising efforts with a cause that we resonate with. As we grow, we want to ensure that our philosophies are not just based on the brand and products, but also holistically as a business. We aim to be a social enterprise and this year, we’ll be working with an NGO and sharing part of our profits with them.
